Vishal A. KhatriMD

I work very closely with internists, anesthesiologists, neurologists, radiologists, physiatrists, therapists and pediatricians to ensure the best patient care. All avenues for alternatives to surgery are explored before surgery is considered. No two patients are the same, so I focus on an individualized, patient-centric treatment plan. If surgery is necessary, I use the most effective and safe techniques that allow for an optimal recovery.”

Dr. Khatri is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in spine surgery. He joined Englewood Orthopedic Associates, LLC after starting his career at the Cooper Bone & Joint Institute at Cooper University Hospital. As southern New Jersey’s only Level 1 academic trauma center and with Cooper’s affiliation with MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Khatri was able to excel in a vast array of surgical procedures ranging from the simple to the complex. His clinical interests include degenerative spinal conditions, minimally invasive spine surgery, spine injuries in athletes, spinal tumors, traumatic injuries to the spine as well as enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) pathways to help patient’s recover following surgery.

Dr. Khatri received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from The George Washington University in Washington, DC where he graduated summa cum laude and was valedictorian of his class. He received his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He completed his internship in General Surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and then went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery from Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Khatri completed his spine surgery fellowship at The University of Maryland Medical Center and the world-renowned R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Khatri has numerous research publications and has co-authored book chapters on spinal conditions.
He is a member of the AO Spine, the North American Spine Society, Scoliosis Research Society, Philadelphia Orthopedic Society and the New Jersey Orthopedic Society.
