3. Why are certain test results not shared electronically via MyChart?
Tests of a very sensitive nature are not released to MyChart.
4. If some of my health information in MyChart is not correct, what should I do?
Your MyChart information comes directly from your electronic medical record at your doctor’s office. Please contact your physician’s office to correct any inaccurate information.
5. If I send a message to my doctor or nurse, when can I expect a reply?
You will generally receive an answer within 3-4 business days. Please note that MyChart should not be used for urgent situations. Please contact your physician’s office if the situation requires immediate attention or dial 911 if it is an emergency.
6. Can I view a family member's health record in MyChart?
An adult patient must grant permission to another adult to view their health record in My Chart; parents and guardians do not need consent to view a minor’s MyChart record. In MyChart this permission is called Proxy access and allows a person to log into their personal MyChart account, and then connect to information regarding their family member. In order to access this, your family member must complete a Proxy Consent from and return it to one of our medical offices to grant you access to this convenient service. The Proxy Consent form can be requested through MyChart.
7. Can I ask questions regarding a family member from my MyChart account?
Privacy laws prevent us from communicating with you about a family member’s health condition without their written consent. To obtain access to a family member’s personal MyChart account, please have them fill out a Proxy Consent form and return it to one of our medical offices.
8. Can my spouse and I share one MyChart account?
No, each adult must establish their own MyChart account.
9. How is MyChart secure?
We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure activation codes, personal usernames, and passwords. Each person controls their password, and the account cannot be accessed without that password. Unlike conventional e-mail, all MyChart messaging is done while you are securely logged on to our website.
10. What do I need to use MyChart?
You need access to a computer or device and an up-to-date browser (such as Google Chrome).
